Our nursing staff is fully trained, and skilled, to care for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, fractures, osteoporosis, arthritis, and Multiple Sclerosis
We also offer post-operative care for orthopaedic patients.
We adopt a proactive approach that looks for sudden changes in health, which can be a result of a fall, stroke, a change in medicication, or from minor infections, which can in turn bring on frailty.
Our staff assist older and frail people with walking, climbing stairs, getting in-and-out of bed, and getting up from their chairs.
Additional day-to-day assistance includes professional and safe administration of all medications, help getting out of bed and getting dressed, mobility throughout the day, and encouragement with eating and drinking.
Our priority is to ensure all our residents are happy and comfortable as help make them feel at ‘home’.
Daily activities and fun events are organised onsite and offsite (external excursions not permitted during the Covid pandemic), which help give our residents a sense of independence and normality.
General well-being is a big priority within the Hospicare Group.
We make every effort to keep our residents safe, comfortable and well. And we extend this to their families and friends when visiting their loved ones.
The facility is designed to enhance the lives of our residents. It’s located inside a retirement village and set in beautiful gardens and patios. Visiting areas are designed to make residents, and their friends and family, feel comfortable and relaxed.
At Hospicare Stellenbosch, we have three sections of care:
The ground floor consists of Private Assisted Living Apartments/Units with ensuite bathrooms and kitchen facilities. These are ideal for single people or couples, who want to live in a frail care / retirement village environment – but also still want to retain their independence partly or completely. We cater to their needs in terms of applicable services such as daily nursing / care worker visits, all meals, laundry etc. Rental of these apartments/units start from R25,000 per month. There is a non-refundable entry fee of R5 000 per person.
Our first floor consists of wards for our very frail residents, as well as single units for residents needing daily care who prefer being in a single unit. There are care workers stationed on this floor with a call button system in place. The cost for the wards start from R15 500 per month and the rental of the single units from R20 800 per month. These rates include 3 meals per day, personal care, medical assistance from our nursing staff, laundry services, wi-fi services and entertainment. There is also a non-refundable entry fee of R5 000 per person.
Our dedicated staff members are kind and passionate, and we are proud to comply to the highest COVID-19 safety protocol.
The owners and staff of Hospicare are committed to providing the highest levels of quality care in a warm, homely environment that respects the individual’s right to privacy, dignity and personal choice.
